Summer Reading 2026

The district has chosen summer reading titles for all rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

Books should be read over the summer in preparation for academic activities, class competitions and fun prizes for the first 2 weeks of school based on the assigned title for each grade level. Please see the details below for each grade level.

Please reach out to Assistant Principal Andrea Weaver at weavera@pcsb.org with questions.

Rising 6th grade                  TITLE: Restart by Gordon KormanBooks were handed out at all district elementary schools during the month of May. If you did not get yours, please reach out to your 5th grade elementary school. Once students finish reading the book, they need to log in via the link below and complete the reading challenge for adventure and prizes!  https://view.genially.com/69fca595c930f8743eb1d066

Rising 7th and 8th grade         Title: City Spies by James POnti (book 1)Books were handed out to all district English classes in May and students signed class rosters with their teacher stating they received their book.

Students new to the county can come and pick one up at the school Mon-Thursday 7:30-5.*** In keeping with the area high schools required summer reading assignments for rising 9th graders in Eng. I and II, reading the book before school begins is an expectation of all rising 8th graders enrolled in Eng. I.

Once students are DONE reading the book- students need to log in and complete the 2 part escape room challenge for adventure and prizes!
